Branson Gospel Music Revival w/ Emma Carter

Branson Gospel Music Revival, formerly known as Branson Gospel Music Convention, comes with a simple motto: The spotlight is on the Message.

Kelly Burton, co-owner/founder of Branson Gospel Music Revival explains, “This year’s hook, as it turns out, is rain. The floods came through Branson, and the tornado in Joplin, and hearts say even louder: Lord, send us YOUR rain!

“So we are hoping that this year’s revival is a true outpouring for artists...to strengthen and refresh them for all the work there is to do. Because the world is flooded with people who are drowning in hopelessness, they need the rain of cleansing and refreshing power that Jesus sends!”

The atmosphere at Branson Gospel Music Revival is different from other gospel music gatherings, because the focus is on the ministry and the ministers.

I can promise you’ll leave this event refreshed and encouraged.

Branson Gospel Music Revival has honestly become one of the highlights of my year. Not only do I look forward to seeing all of my great friends, but I also love the killer guacamole at Branson Landing.

My first year coming to Branson was an interesting ride. My family had never been to the Ozarks before so, the hills of this fun-filled place were a bit unsettling (especially since my home is the flat land of North Carolina).

It is a long 22 hours to the Ozarks, but I’ve grown to love it more and more each time I come.

This is my first time reporting on the events of this great week of gospel music. I’m excited to look at things with a new view, and to express my creativity through writing and photography, for State of the Ozarks. I hope that you will stay connected with me throughout the week as I keep you informed on the amazing people and anointed music at Branson Gospel Music Revival.

Meet Emma Carter...

From www.JayStoneSingers.com...

Emma Elizabeth Carter is the daughter of Bobby and Sharona Carter. On the day this beautiful baby girl was brought home from the hospital, the Jay Stone Singers also brought home their first bus! Emma is a delightful young lady with an equally delightful voice.

She is light and clear on the high notes with a warm, rich tone on the low notes. Emma sang on her first recording when she was four years old. Emma is a gifted musician as well as singer. She began playing the violin in kindergarten and since then has added the saxophone, flute, guitar, and piano to the list. Emma has won several vocal awards as well as awards for playing the saxophone, and guitar.

When she is home you will find her on stage at Destiny Now World Outreach Center / Mount Carmel Church playing her sax and praising the Lord.  She is very serious about her relationship with God and loves finding new ways to express the love of God through all of the arts.

The ministry of the Jay Stone Singers began in the small North Carolina town of Hope Mills, in October of 1976.

Jay Stone, the group’s founder, was serving as the choir director at his home church, Mount Carmel Pentecostal Holiness, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Having been involved with various local Southern Gospel groups for most of his adult life; Jay was beginning to feel that God was directing him to take his ministry back on the road. However, this time would be different because the group was to be made up of Jay, his wife Mary, their 14-year-old son Jeff, their 11-year-old daughter Sharona, and a few close friends.

In June of 1984 Bobby Carter joined the group to sing tenor and play the bass guitar.
Bobby and Sharona were married in November of 1987.

In January of 2010, Jay and Mary Stone decided it was time to retire from all of the traveling. They continue to be a vital part of this ministry, covering it with their prayers, and also managing the group business. On stage today you will find Bobby and Sharona Carter and their children, Stone Carter, 16 and Emma Carter, 13.

During the last 34 years of ministering through song, this family has traveled in 19 states, Canada and Mexico. The Jay Stone Singers have recorded 10 projects over the years. They just recorded their 11th project at Crossroads Music (on the Pinnacle Label).

This family group provides an exciting evangelistic ministry. Their desire is to witness to the lost, encourage the hurting and motivate others to grow the Kingdom of God. The close family harmonies are sure to please your ears, but the anointing and love of God will stir your soul.
