I walk these hills and wonder
About the times that they have seen
Times of sorrow
Times of joy
Times of life that once had been

I walk these hills and wonder
About those who walked them before
The old, the young
The brave, the meek
The wealthy and the poor

I walk these hills and wonder
About their past and history
The daily struggles
And events
That shaped the culture that we see

I walk these hills and wonder
And I think of where we are
Among these hills
These age old hills
Where the past seems not so far
