The Master of Graphite – Jeff German

I’m The Master of Graphite. Someone mumbled that name when they walked past me sitting at a bar drawing pictures of Super Heroes (and I am enough of a marketing expert to latch onto THAT title).

I taught myself how to draw when I was about 4 or 5 years old, copying the Sunday Funnies…. And my interest in subject matter really hasn’t changed all that much. I like to draw Pop Culture characters that everyone either loves now or grew up with.

I also make costumes.

My costume is my original character — The Standard. Scripture says when the enemy rushes in like a flood, The Lord will raise up a Standard. I created this character 2 days before 9/11. It is the living embodiment of the Flag, come to Life. Finally had the costume made 19 years later.
